About RevUp Growth Partners

  • We believe there’s a meaningful difference between a typical digital marketing agency and what we do. Our goal is to help our clients — businesses and nonprofits alike — grow, and that requires a fundamentally different kind of thinking than most agencies are built for. Agencies tend to focus on digital execution (web enhancements, social media, PPC, etc.), but don’t typically bring the sales, operations, fundraising, and C-level management experience needed to develop a truly comprehensive growth strategy.

For businesses, that means we go beyond marketing tactics to address the full revenue picture — aligning sales, operations, and strategy around sustainable, profitable growth. For nonprofits, it means bringing the same rigor to fundraising and development: building stronger donor pipelines, diversifying revenue, improving infrastructure, and making sure your mission is resourced to scale.

Don’t get us wrong — we deeply value (and frequently work with) marketing agencies. They bring important technical expertise and play a critical role in executing tactics well. What we bring is the strategic layer that ensures those tactics are solving the right problems — for whatever kind of organization you are.

  • Digital marketing agencies are typically tacticians — they implement marketing best practices. When pointed at the right problem in the right direction, they can be very effective. But they’re unlikely to take a truly holistic view of your organization. They’ll focus on the tactics they know best (websites, SEO, social, etc.) and point toward digital solutions whether or not those solutions are addressing the right underlying challenges.

We bridge the strategy-to-execution gap across the full range of growth challenges — and our ability to do that for both businesses and nonprofits, in the ways each uniquely requires, is what truly sets us apart. For businesses, that might mean aligning sales, marketing, and operations around a scalable revenue strategy. Most firms specialize in one world or the other. RevUp is fluent in both.

  • For nonprofits especially, growth rarely comes from marketing alone. The real obstacles are often elsewhere — a fundraising strategy that hasn’t kept pace with your mission, donor relationships that need cultivation, a grants program that’s underdeveloped, a development team that’s stretched thin, or back-end systems and infrastructure that make it hard to track, report, and scale. A standard fundraising consulting firm isn’t built to solve those problems. We are.

We bridge the strategy-to-execution gap across the full range of growth challenges — and our ability to do that for both businesses and nonprofits, in the ways each uniquely requires, is what truly sets us apart. For nonprofits, it might mean strengthening fundraising infrastructure, diversifying revenue streams, or deepening donor relationships. Most firms specialize in one world or the other. RevUp is fluent in both.

  • Many growing businesses and nonprofits hire digital marketing agencies either in place of an internal team or to supplement one. If your organization already has a strong marketing or development leader managing that relationship with a clear strategy behind it, that can work well.

However, problems arise when leadership outsources their marketing or fundraising efforts to an agency without a sound strategy in place, or simply without the time and expertise to manage the agency effectively. For a business, that might mean ad spend and campaigns that don’t connect to real revenue growth. For a nonprofit, it might mean communications that look polished but aren’t moving donors or funders to act.

Whether you’re a business trying to build a scalable growth engine or a nonprofit working to strengthen your fundraising and development capacity, RevUp starts by building the right strategy, so that the funds and resources you deploy are pointed at the right problems. We bring the experience to direct your agency’s efforts and hold them accountable for consistently delivering results that actually move the needle.

  • Brian and Cheryl are owner-operators who lead every client relationship. We help you build your strategy and hold ultimate responsibility for the quality and timeliness of all deliverables. We also work with a network of talented partners, who we deploy when we need specialized expertise or additional execution capacity. Whether you’re a business or a nonprofit, our goal is for your experience to feel seamless and efficient.

  • We’ll answer that one when we go out for a beer (or two).

  • We’re always looking for talented marketers, account managers, sales professionals, fundraising and development professionals, and operations experts. If you’re looking to work with great clients across both the business and nonprofit sectors and enjoy the flexibility of contract work, please drop us a line.

Our Services

  • Yes — while we’re a small firm, we’re always adding talented partners to our team. Our model is unique in that we start by creating a custom growth strategy for each client, whether they’re a business or a nonprofit. If executing that strategy requires a skill or resource not currently in our wheelhouse, we’ll go find the right person for the job. We vet and manage them directly, taking full responsibility for their output.

  • While we do have extensive experience in several industries including education, technology, SaaS, CPG, clean technology, and nonprofits (small, mid-sized, and national – see below), our methodology is applicable in most industries. Of course, a methodology is only as good as the people implementing it. At RevUp, we start with curiosity and ask a lot of questions about your industry, competitors, goals, budget and timelines before rolling up our sleeves to create and execute a custom growth strategy for you.

  • Because we believe the best parts of each sector make the other stronger — and that serving both makes us better at serving either.

Most firms plant a flag in one world. We’ve intentionally built expertise across both, and that cross-sector fluency is one of the most valuable things we bring to our clients. For nonprofits, it means we can think expansively about revenue opportunities beyond traditional philanthropy — drawing on for-profit growth strategies to help organizations diversify their revenue model in ways that are creative, sustainable, and mission-aligned. For businesses, it means we bring a mission-driven rigor and people-first perspective that sharpens strategy and strengthens relationships.

We genuinely believe growth can come in many different forms, and we like to think creatively about what your long-term revenue model should look like. Having deep expertise in both sectors means we’re not limited to the conventional playbook — we can draw from a wider range of tools, models, talented partners, and strategies to find what’s right for you. That’s not a niche we stumbled into. It’s one we’ve built on purpose, because we’ve seen firsthand how much more we can offer our clients because of it.

  • We aren’t ourselves experts in acquisitive growth, but we know plenty of people who are (including some of our clients!). If your plan includes acquisitive growth strategies, we’d love to make a connection.

  • Because we never offer a one-size-fits-all approach, we always produce custom quotes for every client. We can bill hourly (and have some clients who prefer that), but we strongly prefer to build you a deliverable-based package that maximizes flexibility and ensures we’re all aligned on the most important priorities.

Our price point is specifically designed for small and mid-market businesses and nonprofits, so we know you’ll find us to be a good value. Drop us a line to learn more or get a custom quote.

  • Every engagement looks a little different, because we tailor our approach to what each client actually needs. That said, we’ve found that investing time upfront to fully understand your challenges, goals, and resources is critical to making sure you’re executing the right plan in the right way.

As for duration — that’s entirely on your timeline. Some clients work with us for a year or more as an ongoing growth partner, while others engage us for a few focused months to kick-start a strong strategy. We scale up or down based on where you are and where you’re headed.
